Static Aircraft Display Map
As part of creating “Adventures” within Road Adventures, we developed a fun documentation project to map all known static aircraft and helicopters on display across North America. We call this project the Flight Line Project. The map is available for anyone who wishes to use it to create their own aviation adventure.
This map was designed to help aviation enthusiasts discover and visit the many static aircraft displays and Air and Space Museums throughout North America. These aircraft and helicopters represent pieces of history that should be preserved and shared. Many of the aircraft featured on the map are in need of restoration or general TLC. Most of the museums and static displays are open to the general public.
However, aircraft or museums located on military bases are marked in red on the map and will require prior permission to visit. Locations with special requirements or limited access are noted in the map markers to help visitors plan their trips accordingly.
