The first offroad run of 2019 we were headed off to explore around the Mojave area. This trip was themed to flying as the area had a rich history of aviation testing out of the Edwards Airforce pace. This was a two-day adventure to see some amazing fun trails as well as some historic points of interest around the flight testing in this area.
Day one traveled along the west side of the valley along some great trails and with the first stop being an old Talc mine. From here the group would keep looping North than Turn east to head to the Pinnacles. These were some cool rock formations that are a sight worth seeing. The last half of the day was looping back to the hotel with stops at some aviation markers. These were memorials to the brave test pilots who flew experimental airplanes and did not make it back to base.
Day two was the long loop heading East. This day would have stops at a dry lake bed, F22 test crash site, and some old section of an airplane. As this was our first trip to the Edwards area, it most certainly will not be our last. There are some great trails and areas to explore.
